Village Of Skokie  The Village of Skokie (IL) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of full time Engineering Technician.  Working with and supporting a team of dedicated and highly talented traffic and civil engineering professionals in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, this position, under general direction, performs technical civil and traffic engineering work of moderate difficulty; Aids in the design & field inspection of civil & traffic engineering projects, including street resurfacing, water mains, sewers & sidewalks; Duties include operation of surveying equipment, use of AutoCad for engineering plan preparation, conducting speed studies and traffic counts; Prepares quantities for preliminary cost estimates for water, sewer, streets, alleys, and other public improvements; Researches documents and historical information & maintains records; Interacts with residents regarding engineering projects and related matters; Must be able to foster and maintain positive professional relationships with other engineering and surveying personnel, internal departments, contractors, and the public; Performs other work-related duties, as assigned. Must follow all safety rules of the Village.  High school diploma required; Completion of college course work desired, Engineering or related studies preferred; Three yearsâ experience in sub-professional civil or traffic engineering, or combination of training & experience; Demonstrated knowledge of mathematics through trigonometry and its application to field surveying & engineering computations; Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; Use of AutoCad, GIS, and relevant surveying applications; Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite applications; Must possess and maintain a valid Driverâs License. POLICE RECORDS CLERK â FULL TIME  The Village of Skokie (IL) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Police Records Clerk. Under general direction from the Records Supervisor, the Records Clerk is responsible for the collection, review, organization, retention, and retrieval of all incidents brought to the attention of the Police Department; Reviews, processes, and maintains all Police records, including offense, arrest, citations, accident, and related reports, per State and Federal standards, and comply with State mandated reporting, and enters data in the Records Management System; Process subpoena requests and court rosters; Assists with court duty tasks, as needed; Responds to requests for documents from various departments; Prepare transmittal for the Circuit Court of Cook County Second Municipal District; Protects the secure storage and confidentiality of all records within the Unit; Assists citizens and provides them with general information or direction; Process Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests; maintain annual FOIA certification via Illinois Attorney Generalâs Office; Process court orders to expunge and seal records in compliance with State requirements; Prepares monthly reports; Performs other work-related duties as assigned or required.  High School Diploma or equivalent required; At least two years of diversified office experience with considerable skill in maintaining and managing confidential records and files; Must be familiar with personal computers, computer database programs, and word processing programs; Demonstrated knowledge of software programs such as âQueryâ, Microsoft Office Suite, Access, and Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) log inquiry is desirable; Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions; Must have the ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with peers and the public; Ability to perform multiple tasks accurately, efficiently, and expediently; Some skill in the use of discretionary judgment in dispensing sensitive and confidential information.  The hourly pay range for this position is $29.5159 - $38.6124. The starting pay range is $29.5159 - $32.5414, depending on qualifications.
